Groovy receives
JAX Innovation Award 07

Basel, Switzerland – April 30, 2007 – Canoo congratulates the Groovy team on receiving the JAX Innovation Award for 2007.

The JAX Innovation Award is awarded once a year at the JAX conference, a leading Java developer event in Europe, with the aim of promoting innovative projects, products and ideas and to increase their chances of succeeding.

Dierk König, Senior Software Engineer at Canoo, Groovy developer and committer, received the prize on behalf of the Groovy team, at a ceremony held last week at JAX 07 in Wiesbaden. He is co-founder of Canoo Engineering and recently published a best-selling book on Groovy.

Groovy is an agile dynamic language for the Java Platform with many features that are inspired by languages like Python, Ruby and Smalltalk, making modern programming features available to Java developers with almost-zero learning curve.
