Java FX Script - Sun's response to Adobe and Microsoft Silverlight?

Java FX Script was one of the highlights Sun presented at JavaOne 2007. Java FX is designed to simplify the development of Swing applications. Like Adobe Flex or Microsoft Silverlight, the GUI is not coded line by line. The stucture and dynamic behaviour of the user interface are described using a scripting language (Java FX Script). An interpreter converts the scripts into Swing classes. Java FX applications are - like Flex and Silverlight applications - rich fat clients, i.e. the GUI code is executed on the client side.

The 10/2007 issue of German IT trade magazine iX includes an article by Canoo's Mike Mannion (in German only), evaluating and discussing Java FX based on the Canoo sample project Music Pinboard.
