In addition to the expansion of the dictionary and several bug fixes, previous compatibility problems with the new operating system iOS 5 have also been resolved. You can now make unlimited use of CanooNet’s entire spectrum on your iPhone, iPad or iPod. A visit to the AppStore is all that’s needed to download the new version 3.1. Very sympathisch, don’t you think!
3. The JUG Switzerland Series enters the Second Round
With the inaugural JUG Switzerland event in Basel at the venerable Teufelhof guest house in April 2011, JUG'S, together with Canoo, succeeded in establishing a series of events in northwest Switzerland. This successful launch was followed by a second event on October 27, 2011. With the offices of the Basler Versicherungen insurance group, JUG once again chose a Basel location with character.
With his Talk “Gradle wird den Build schon schaukeln” [Gradle will rock the build] Etienne Studer, CTO of the product company edorasware ag, provided an insight into the concepts of Gradle, using many live examples. The build management tool plays an increasingly important role in the automatic build of challenging software projects.
In the course of the evening, participants – project leaders, software developers and build masters – were able to savour elegant build scripts, quick builds and many novel Gradle features. And we are looking forward to the next JUG event in Basel. Perhaps you will also be there again?
4. Undreamt of Possibilities with RIA Suite

5. Radio Basel – have you heard?
At the beginning of September 2011 the new series “Besser Wissen mit Dr. Bopp” [Better informed with Dr. Bopp] began on Radio Basel. The focus of this weekly series broadcast Friday mornings at 8.45 is the German language with all its intricacies and refinements. On the programme the linguist Stephan Bopp, already enthusiastically received with his in-depth knowledge on his canoo.net blog, answers questions on spelling and grammar in amusing and interesting snippets. Those with a burning interest can also send their questions directly to kontakt@radiobasel.ch.
