To run the Word Formation browser:

The UI Engine is deployed as an applet embedded in a Web page (using the Java Plug-in) or using Java Web Start. The application is deployed as a servlet. The UI Engine connects to the application using HTTP as the underlying transport protocol.

Application Functionality

The Word Formation browser is a highly sophisticated browser presenting the German morphology dictionary with more than 250'000 lexeme entries. It offers unique information such as all word-formation dependencies between entries, a highly interesting categorization of entries, regular expression search options, and category-based subset generation. The Word Formation browser is one of a series of online application services developed by Canoo.
