Global Guarantee Management

Description

Siemens Financial Services, the financial solutions subsidiary of Siemens, leveraged UltraLightClient to deliver a Rich Internet Application to 5000 users world wide in their GREAT project. GREAT (Guarantee REquest and AccounTing) is a back office application for the management of guarantees. The first version of GREAT came with two user interfaces: a rich (fat) client and an HTML thin client, where the latter offered a subset of the former’s functions. Both have now been replaced by a single application based on UltraLightClient. UltraLightClient enabled merging the applications and standardizing business processes on a global scale, creating substantial business value while reducing IT cost. See also this press article.
